Physicians

Dr. Verdon W. Parham
Verdon has been providing quality medical care to families in Chanute for 26 years.
He is a graduate of the University of Kansas Medical Center and served his residency through the United States Air Force before moving to Chanute with his wife Judy and two daughters, Christy and Julie.  Judy is a Chanute area native who graduated from Humboldt High School and is currently active in establishing Castaways, an animal shelter and sanctuary.

His first daughter, Christy Parham‑Vetter, MD, established the Panacea companies with Dr. Parham to offer health care services to the people of Chanute and southeast Kansas.  His second daughter, Julie, teaches high school English in Norwalk, Connecticut.

Physician Assistants

Stefanie Breitkreutz, PA-C
Stefanie is native to Omaha, Nebraska.  She and her husband, Chad, relocated to Chanute in January of 2006.  After completing her undergraduate work in Biology at Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa, Stefanie graduated in December of 2005 with a Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Nebraska Medical Center.  Stefanie and Chad have adopted a rescue dog, Belle.

 
Dawn Unruh, PA-C
Dawn comes to Chanute from Lincoln, Nebraska.  She graduated in 1991 from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.  Dawn later attended Union College in Lincoln where she received her Bachelor degree in Physician Assistant Studies in 2002.  Dawn has practiced in South Dakota, Iowa and Wisconsin in family medicine and urgent care.  She cares for three rescue dogs, Oreo, Ginger, and Lilly.

Clinical Staff

Leann Becknell, Radiology & Phlebotomy
Leann has lived in Chanute since 1993.  She is married to Glen and has three step‑children, Brandon, Alissa, and Brittany.  Together they have two sons, Walker and Luke.
Amy Bishop, MA
Amy grew up in Chanute.  After a career in medical insurance, she moved into clinical care.  She has been a medical assistant for two years.  She and her husband, Dennis, have been married for 15 years and have two boxers, Kacie Marie and Maxwell, as well as one cat, Allie.
Lisa Luther, RN
Lisa is native to Chanute and has been in nursing for 18 years.  She has one son, Jeffrey, and three cats – Ratty, Tippy, and Joe Boy as well as two dogs – Maisy and Kara.
Staci Page, Coding & Clinical Specialist
Staci is a Certified Coder with six years experience.  In addition, she has been an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT‑I) for 14 years and a phlebotomist for three years.  She grew up in Chanute and now lives in Humboldt with her husband Jeff.  They have one son, Gavin, and another on the way.
Missy Reaves, MA
Missy has worked for Dr. Parham for six years.  She is a southeast Kansas native and has lived in Chanute since 1984.  She has been married to Tom for over 17 years and has two sons, Anthony and Troy and two wonderful Shih Tzu’s, Lacy and Annie.
Sue Stuart, RN
Sue has lived in Chanute since 1980 and has been working with Dr. Parham for the last 10 years.  She has two grown children and two grandsons.  She also has two cherished cats.
